The auditions will take place at DLT on Market Street in Dundas at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday November 13 and Monday November 14. If you are interested in auditioning but cannot attend at the advertised times, please contact the director at Actors will be asked to give a cold reading from the script. Electronic copies of the script are available from the director. If necessary, callbacks will take place on November 21 at 7:30.

The action of the play takes place early in 1912 in an English provincial city. For logistical reasons, the small part of the maid is already cast. The other 6 parts, roughly equal in size, are as follows:

Arthur Birling: mid-50’s, heavy looking, portentous, easy manners, provincial in speech.

Sibyl Birling: 50, cold, her husband’s social superior.

Sheila Birling: 20’s, their daughter, excited, lively, impassioned, attractive.

Eric Birling: early 20’s, her younger brother, not quite at his ease, awkward mixture of shyness and assertiveness.

Gerald Croft: 30’s, Sheila’s young man, attractive, easy manners, self-assured, man-about-town.

Inspector Goole: 50’s, imposing not physically but in character, chooses his words carefully, has an aura, even in the background he commands our attention throughout.
